Chk Engine is ON -- P0442 S90-V90

My wife called this morning to inform me that CHECK ENGINE light in her '98 S90 came on and stayed on. Other than that the car behaved normally. She was able to get back home safely tonight without any problems. I then connected my laptop to OBD-II port and retrieved the problem code: P0442. According to the Green Book, this code is set when the system detects a fault in the Pulsed secondary air injection system (PAIR). The strange thing is that the book says that "... this diagnostic trouble code is always stored together with EFI-446 and EFI-448" codes." In my case, P0442 was the only code stored (no P0446/P0448 codes.) Also, the book does not say what steps should be undertaken to correct this. Anybody got any clue?

I don't believe this is serious. If anything, this might cause some problems with emissions during startups when the engine is cold, but it should not matter after the car is warmed up. Am I correct?

In any case, after I cleared the trouble code stored in ECU, Check Engine light has not come back up yet. I guess it is a good sign...

Anybody had P0442 codes in 960s/S90s before?
