Anybody tried Mobil1 0w-40 in 960? 900

Sure, this is what I use in my son's 960, year around. It's the best oil out there, save for some of the more esoteric and more expensive synthetics. It's Mercedes' oil of choice these days.

Folks should give themselves an education by visiting the Mobil 1 Web site for Sweden. Or Germany. Or the UK. There, you'll learn that 10W-30, 5W-30, etc. formulations are not even available.

The bottom line on these oils is that they are nothing more than an attempt to maintain corporate average fuel economy numbers (at customers' expense IMHO) by USA manufacturers, and apparently Volvo feels its USA customers will be unduly influenced by this BS and consequently specifies these oils in its USA owner's manuals. It doesn't reflect the reality of how Volvos are run in Sweden or the rest of Europe.
