cluster died and now won't crank 200 1990

Hi,
I've got a 1990 240 that last night the cluster died. No idiot lights, temp and gas gauge didn't work, speedometer and odometer don't work, etc. The overdrive light comes on when the od is engaged. This sounded like I had lost power to it. It started and ran fine, though. This morning after running for about 10 minutes, it died and won't crank. I might have heard the solenoid clicking but I'm not sure on that. I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot more.

Any ideas? I think these are probably related. Maybe a short that is killing power to the cluster and has drained the battery? A ground problem somewhere?

To the best of my knowledge, it worked fine prior and I haven't done anything to the wiring system for a while.

Thanks in advance!
Lyle
