Brick doesn't 'feel right' when driving - feels bumpy from rear-end 200 1984

It feels like there's some resistance while driving, like I'm driving over small bumps in the road, but I feel these "bumps" from the car's rear end.

I don't think it's the engine since it runs smoothly even when pushed hard. The clutch is about five years old and feels fine when engaging gears. This "bumpy" sensation happens in all gears and both when accelerating and cruising.

My somewhat uneducated guess is the drivetrain or rear suspension. Out of alignment? Bad U-joint? I am hearing that famous THUNK sound from the rear suspension when accelerating, reversing or cornering hard. Could that failing bushing be causing my bumps?

Has anybody ever had this experience, or am I breathing in too many POR-15 fumes?

Thanks.
