240 DL wagon - inside rearview mirror missing 200 1985

Hi all,

Just bought an '85 240 DL wagon a few days ago - it's mechanically in pretty good shape (only 140k miles), but the interior and body are not so hot. The car has a good deal of rust, and the interior needs patching up.

Anyhow, my question is with regards to the interior rear view mirror - it's broken off at the soft metal piece in the back. Is it possible to remove the entire mirror support and replace it with a junkyard piece? I don't think it's possible to repair the broken soft metal swivel/mount thing. If so, how does the mirrow support come off? I tried for a bit but couldn't figure out if it bolts to the roof or what.
