1800 Ball Joint woes

What is the easiest way to get those ball joints out of the spindle ?
The car is not that rusty.
I'm not crazy about using a 'pickle fork' since it tears the rubber pillow on the ball joint.

My ultimate goal today is to replace the springs, so if somebody needs all four 3 year old 20% stiffer stock ride height springs for a 1800 or 122, please let me know. Duck
