245 Exhaust leak 200

My wife's 245 has recently developed a mild exhaust leak. It seems to be coming from underneath (as opposed to the manifold). The interesting thing is that it's only noticable when the car is first started. Once it's been down the road it seems to go away. This leads me to suspect that something is expanding and making a good seal again once the system warms up.
But what could that something be?
