Rocker panel removal and replacement 200 1984

I'm in the process of converting a portion of what used to be my car's steel body into POR-15. One part of my car that has taken a significant hit are the rocker panels...no surprise there.

My question is how do I remove them? I understand that they are mounted with clips. Assuming these 20-year-old clips are pretty much not reusable, could I just rip them off?

And where can I buy replacements besides from the dealer? How many clips will I need? And how do I install them?

I may be able to save one of them by patching its holes, but I want to see if anything behind them is rusting and fix it before installing them again.

Thanks!
