B280 with oil in water 700 1988

I've found a 760 with B280, just over 100k mi, and oil in the water. Otherwise in great condition. Have not seen it, just saying what the owner said. Any ideas? I've heared people mention that oil in the water is really bad news on the B280, but want to know what the experts say. What could be wrong?
