Oil covering valve cover 200

I looked under the hood of my 1985 244 and noticed the valve cover (or whatever the black rectangular piece is with the Volvo logo on it) has a coat of oil over it's entire surface. Does this mean I need to replace the gasket between the block and the cover?

If so, is it as easy as removing the screws, cover , and gasket and then installing a new gasket or is it more involved? I realize I will have to remove some spark plug wires as they lay on top of the cover. Is the large rubber hose that lays on it easy to disconnect?

Thanks in advance!
