trunk support struts 700 1989

It must be installed with the trunk open...otherwise it is fully compressed.

If you can't compress the rod by putting your weight on it (careful it doesn't slip...I like concrete!) it's defective.

Only one rod? Generally it's best to replace them in pairs. Equalizes stresses on the hinges.

Our 87 760 has two of the rods.
