i want to break in my car to synthetic: can i add 1 quart synthetic/ 3quarts regular? 200

i have an 82 244 with 204000 miles on it. I want to start using synthetics in it, but i would like to slow down the flow of gunk that's going to begin floating around. So i was thinking of beggining by doing an oil change and adding one can of mobil 1 synthetic 10w-30 with 3 cans of castrol dino oil.

Is this a good way to go about it? My car has a lot of varnish and carbon so i dont' want to suddenly flood the system with full synthetics...it would be ideal to do it slowly in my opinion.

Any thoughts...any ideas?

thanks
