Dear CarlD,

Good p.m. and may this find you well. You do need a dealer's help. However, you may not need to visit. Because no one is interested in stealing radios from cars more than 10 years old, some dealers will give you the code over the phone, if you supply the VIN.

It won't hurt to ask; the most they can do is insist you visit. If they give it to you via telephone, you've saved a trip.
