Or another way ...

Yup, I already have a hitch on it, but I'm out in the country (the beautiful Texas Hill Country), and a trailer is often just too much of a hassle, especially when I have to drive 75 miles into town and run a number of different errands while I'm in there. Does serve to tow the sailboat nicely, however.
On cutting the roof, I've thought of that, and eliminating the rear side glass as well, leaving the roof edge superstructure in place, possibly even over the rear door opening for 2 inches or so...the full pickup treatment keep knawing away, however. I haven't had (or needed) the rear seat bottom in it since I bought it).
