Downshift w/Automatic, Yes or No 200 1987

Andrew,
Well, i dont know whether Volvo intended the auto to used in this way or even if its a good idea or not, but i always seem to be doing it anyway. Even down into second if im slowing down from 50km/h. Around town i rarely use top gear, i find the car 'hunts' waay too much and it never seems to be in the right gear. I dont know about a 'feature' but it does work, even if you try and use the throttle so the engine doesnt go all stroppy when you change down. My 240 is 18yrs old with 330400 km on the clock, and i hope it hasnt harmed it thus far. TOUCH WOOD!
Hope this helps
Chris.
