CONSIDERING A 1974 164E HAVE SOME QUESTIONS 140-160 1974

I recently saw a decent looking '74 164E with 4 speed + electronic OD, straight 6 with non-working factory a/c. Nice car except for the cracked leather seating surfaces, cracked, not torn or worn. No rust. With about 116K miles on it, what kind of service would I expect from it in relation to what excellent service (290K miles) I'm getting from my '86 240DL sedan? This '74 has been taken care of. How is the highway mileage on a manual 164E with fuel injection and manual transmission. I can squeeze almost 30mpg out of my 240 with the a/c and auto trans, and I pamper my baby.....I would appreciate any input. I have always thought the 164 front end a very attractive and regal looking grille/horns/headlights.

Thanks.
