New to M47 II question? 200

I'd inspect engine and trans mounts first. If they're sufficiently sagged or split, the trans can rub against the crossmember and all sorts of noise results.

Mine doesn't make any unusual noises with 231K on it, but I wouldn't say it's a quiet transmission. You can hear some noises.

You'll also want to check out all the rear axle bushings- anything bad back there can transmit noise through the whole driveline. And those sorts of things are likely to make different noises under accel vs. decel.
