65 PV 544 memory 444-544 1965

Just a funny story about a 544 I use to drive in high school.
It was a pretty good looking car, so I decided to go all the way and impress my friends by getting the seats re-upholstered. The upholstery lady lived across town, so I decided to drive the car over there, pull out the seats, front and back, and drive home in a dinning room chair I borrowed from my folks. All went fine until I was driving home. In the middle of town is a four-way stop, and as I stopped, I saw one of my friends in his car, at the stop sign to my right. He waved me through...so with the typical high school mentality, I punched it, just to show off.
I didn't realize how much support the ole' seat back gives you when you accelerate. I flew back, literally landing with my head in the trunk!!
I scrambled back to the wheel in time to see my friend laughing his head off!
The seats turned out great, and the only thing that got hurt was my ego!
