'Not what I think it is' - answer 700

Two other posts on this subject. Problem was a dead #4 cylinder at idle.

Yesterday I thought I saw some loose gasket material around the #4 intake. I loosened the two bolts a bit to dislodge this, and it was nothing - retightened - same thing - miss on #4 at idle.

This morning I take out and after about 5 miles - coming to a stop - it starts squealing - like a really bad belt. I stop and check it - air up a tire - and make for the shop 2 miles away.

When I pull up - it takes off squealing again. he comes out - pulls some carb cleaner - sprays in a couple of spots, and there it is - #4 gasket - leaking away.

Hopefully when I get the gasket tomorrow am at NAPA this will fix my prob. I had noted that there was a slight squeal under hard acceleration before - but I thought it was a belt slipping.

I will post back here tomorrow with the results.
