1990 740 GLE 16 Valve station Wagon.

I found that the air conditioning/heating control upper sliding control has jammed. This is the sliding lever that selects recirc A/C, regular A/C, floor, upper vent, bilevel etc. The control unit comes out as a unit fairly easily.When I dis-assembled it I found that the rotary mechanism that ports vacuum is broken and cannot be repaired. It is hard to describe so I hope that one of the experts on the board can relate to this problem. The question of the day is...where could I find one of these animals?
