The reason for no ridge is.......

Hmmm good question .... I was told when I got the motor that the car it came out of "Only had 65,000 miles on it" .... and then it was installed in a boat that proved that it's fiberglass was too brittle to be safe and was only run for one weekend in the boat .... it was still in the boat when I first saw it .... the boat was being dismembered .... This is NOT a marine block ... I have one of those too and they are clearly marked ....
