can anyone please help with this one
on returning from a 10 mile journey yesterday the brake failure light came on,and of course i go on my hols (vacation) tomorrow,
id just had new brake pads fitted all round but as the light did not come on till 10 miles after they were fitted i think its probably coincidence.
when i went to remove the warning light switch i noticed it was only finger tight and thought someone had frgotten to tighten it,but on reflection this was almost a criminal act,my theory is that sometime in the past the switch has come on and someone has, instead of sorting the problem out defeated the switch... the plunger only travels a few thou so the failure to tighten rendered the switch inoperative.untill vibration or a build up of muck on the plunger caused the lighy to come on.
looks as though the rod has stuck off centre for some reason, but the brakes are fine,no loss of fluid ,i have done thousands of miles in the car which ive had for 3 years,
the switch chamber is nice and dry,the unit itself is in supberb condition.
any ideas
many thanks
