Painted grill on the 960 900 1994

It was a hard decision to even think of messing with the chrome on the grill insert.I like chrome,dont get me wrong.
I've had 2 turbo cars in the past and the GLT's have a black insert.I even have an old grill from the 242 and i look at it and wonder.Well,the wondering's over now.It looks great on my white wagon.
I took the insert out,roughed up the chrome(what am I doing) with a scotch brite disc and sprayed 2 full cans of Krylon Fusion black.The Fusion paint is one step,requires no sanding or primer and is supposed to bond to plastic and metal and also is chip resistant.
I only hope this is true because I dont want it to start chipping off and look like you know what.Only time will tell.
It takes 7 days to cure but I cant drive around that long with a gaping hole between the head&fog lights,maybe it will cure quicker at 70 mph.
While i had the insert out I cleaned and waxed the chrome frame it sits in.I'm pleased with the result.
