A/C temps at vent? 200

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

As you may know I am over here still in the deserts of Qatar...My father has done some investigating on my good lil brick (89 245 5 sp.) at home for me on the A/C...he said with a/c running for about 5 minutes in 82 deg. weather the vents were only at about 68 deg. he also said that the freon gauge in engine are wasnt solid in freon...it looked as though it would go through and then not be there and show up again, possibly getting low on freon? It is a texas car, i have not owned it through a summer yet, first one and im not even home for it..He also said that it didnt look to clea either in the gauge when it showed..

Does this sound like a system that needs charging or even more maintenance? No leaks were found, relay is working, all systems to be nominal other than the fact that she isnt getting THAT cool...I know our HVAC syustem isnt the greatest for cooling anyway, but what are the normal numbers for temps? the FAQ isnt coming up for me, so sorry for the post, and questions...

robert
