possible 6 cyl to 4 cyl swap question--mounts & x-mbr 200

You simply undo the engine mounts that bolt to the crossmember and they drop right into the next crossmember. The trans support is moved up a bolt hole or two, all of the holes have captive nuts in them already. The driveshaft is swapped complete, but the pinion flange may be different. Use the shaft that works anyways. The clutch mechanism is a bit of a bear, especially if the new car is an automatic now. Shift linkages for either are different lengths.
Check the wiring plug, but in most cases it is easy.
The rad, header tank, and all else are straightforward, as long as the donor car is nearby.
The biggest job is swapping the front springs to the four cylinder ones as the car will sit way too high with the V-6 springs and a four cylinder under the hood.
I have done it a few times, but from this point I am not doing any more. It is a worthwhile thing to do if you have the time though.
