AC frustration... 700 1988

Car:
'88 760 Turbo Wagon

Symptom:
Climate controls quit working. AC kicks on but neither the fan nor the temperature controls work.

Attempted:
After searching the site, I pulled the controls in an attempt to find a bad soldered connection. Unlike the pictures and descriptions I've seen here, my controls have two boards, one on top of the other, which have a wiring harness attaching the two together, with one harness on each side making it impossible to look at the soldered points without disassembling existing connections.

Oh, I tried pulling codes and it gave me the 1-1-1 "all clear."

Am I missing something?
