car alarm activated how do you de-activate it 700 1987

Black 780 PRV please read on.. TO THE ORIGIANL POSTER: pull the fuse, I can't remember which number 22, 10, 2,?? for alarm system/fog lights. Key should then start car.

On my 88 780 the alarm pick-up is behind the left-rear (driver's) quarterglass a couple inches from the b-pillar. The fob to deactive these things contains nothing more than 8-10 small magnets pointed in different directions, and in varying points inside. To get a new fob made, locate your pick-up inside the car, pry it away from the window and write down the codes found on the pick-up. Take those codes to a dealer parts counter, find the part number from the microfiche, and have it ordered, giving your codes. It has to come from Sweden
so it takes a few weeks. I think mine was about 65.00 a year or so ago.

regards,

DJ

"I rarely use the alarm so I did not carry the fob with me."

Is this that thing the owners manul says to move across the windsheild by the dash on the drivers side? Where can you get one, from Volvo only or is there another place?
