Hot weather running problems 200

I have problem with my 1990 240. When it is hot (80+ degrees) my brick decides to stall. It is like it has no power. I hit the throtle a few times then all of a sudden the engine kicks in again. Today it totaly died on me. I let it cool down and a few hours then I drove it home with no problem (it was cooler then). Any help would be appreciated. John

PS fuel pumps OK I could here them running
