Exhaust Pipe interchange 120-130

When dropping the engine into the Yellow Peril (73 145E) I noticed that the
exhaust pipe is somewhat larger than the double downpipe supplied for the later
122s. I have not had a chance to examine these pipes side-by-side but it looks
like they are pretty similar except bigger (and maybe heavier) pipe is used on
the 140 series pipes.

Has anyone used a 140 pipe on a 122? How much modification is required?
My exhaust guy says that the pipes are too close together for him to fab
from scratch but he could shorten or bend, etc.

Anybody got a bargain in a 140 front exhaust pipe?
