I am looking at the fcpgroton site for the parts for changin the timing belt. The car is a 94 at 99k miles with a 50k timing belt interval. Which parts do I need to change at this point?
Timing Belt $26 (duh)
Belt tensioner $125!!! (I think so)
tesioner roller? $43
idler roller? $36
water pump? ( there is the genuine Volvo at $85 or the "German" at $42. I dont know if the water pump can go 150k miles in this car and its a critical timing component.)
Outside the timing belt:
Serpentine belt $17.50 (might as well)
Accesory belt tensioner? (at $115 I would rather not if I dont have to)
Accesory belt idler pulley? $26.50
All of the above seem like wear items. The question is will they collapse before my next timing belt change at 150k or can i just keep going with what I have.
I want to hear from those that have already gone through the process. I need to do the service within the next month while I still have a garage. Thanks for all the help.
P.S. The old oil filter is still draining. I will tear into it this weekend.
Thanks
Justin
