93 940: Idle Air Control Valve: How to Clean it? 900

Dear Fellow Brickboarders,

May this find you well. I need to clean the oil breather box. As I must remove the IAC Valve (Motor), I will inspect it and - if necessary - clean it.

What is the best way to clean the IACV?
- What kind of solvent should be used (or should NOT be used).
- What kinds of tools - if any - can or should (or shouldn't) be used?
- Should the cleaning process begin at one end and finish at the other?
- Any special precautions to be taken, to avoid doing damage?

If this covered in the FAQs, direct me to the place. I looked, but did not find any such procedure, although the cleaning was referenced, in the second about replacing or cleaning the oil breather box.

Thanks for your help. I'm much obliged.

Yours faithfully,

spook

p.s. Any further tips on cleaning the oil breather box, will be most helpful and very much appreciated.
