Burn exhaust manifold Gasket every 6 months... 200 1983

Hi!,
I have a problem with the exhaust manifold gasket every 6 months, it burns and I have to replace it and I have a Question about this, Is this normal for a 240 turbo? I see on the bottom of the exhaust manifold and I note the is no "Exhaust manifold stiffener plate" installed (I see a photo on haynes manual), is this the cause of the problem? Any advice, thanks!
