Odometer problems 200

The odometer in my wife's '79 244 works intermittently. I understand from earlier posts that the problem is with one of the nylon gears inside. I have the instrument panel off and the speedometer removed from it. The three spiral-shaped gears are ok. How do I get to the culprit gear and where do I get a replacement? I have twisted the tabs that appear to hold stuff together, but there's something else holding it frinly and I don't want to foul stuff up.

Any help will be appreciated.

Jim Hampton
