I Pick 'n Pulled one a week ago. 1-1/2 hours in the car in 104F....fun. It was from an 84, so maybe a little different - the servo operates the throttle via a cable to the throttle drum. This is a special drum unique to cruise-equipped cars, so don't miss getting this piece. And on the mechanical speedo cars there's a little magnetic pickup on the back of the speedo housing which provides the speed signal to the "Governor" (Volvo's term for the electronics).
I think (repeat: 'think') the post-85 cars had the cable act on the gas pedal?
Anyhow, as Rich says you need to just be thorough in pulling every last piece, and make notes/photos of where it all hooks up. As to whether it will work - they're a pretty reliable piece (supplier in early 80's and maybe later was Dana Corp) but you won't know until you have it completely installed. I've got the identical Dana (but aftermarket version) on our 83 and it's worked fine for 20 years. I still have the installation and troubleshooting instructions, so if yours doesn't work give me a holler.
