AC Woes - Compressor does not turn on 200 1984

I don't have a wiring diagram so I'm working in the dark here. We have a 1984 240 Sedan. The AC was working, but now is not. The clutch is not engaging. I checked the low pressure port, it is about 44lbs give or take a little (cheap gauge). I tried bypassing the low pressure cut out, no change. If I hook the compressor clutch coil directly up to power the clutch engages and the compressor spins. I did not leave it on long enough to tell if it would put out cold air, however the larger outlet pipe got very toasty to the touch in the short time I left it on. The low pressure port may have gone up a pound or two, but no significant change.

I'm looking for assistance on tracking down the issue. Good places to start, and any idea on where I might find an electronic copy of the wiring diagram would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Rich
