Missing fuel pump relay 900

I have a 1994 940 8 valve which stalls at the most inopportune times.My mechanic said to buy a fuel pump relay,which I have done.The board has slots cut for the relay, but no existing relay is present and there are no wires evident which are designed to hook onto the thing.Can someone with more sense than I have help me with this conundrum? Thank you.
