Rear axle differences 120-130

I'll have to pull a half shaft to be sure but I've always heard that pre 67 shafts were "tapered" and post 67 weren't. I thinkt they would all have to be tapered at the race, though.

Anyway, after looking this evening there is something not right. The drums move side to side (along the width of the differential) a decent bit, and moving one seems to move the other. This is expecially obvious after getting both wheels off the ground. Any guesses? Hopefully nothing big as I've been totally swamped recently. This new job beats unemployment but is sure taking it out of me!

A friend and I went halvsies on one of those fancy hub pullers so I think I'll need to reclaim that ASAP.
