Rear axle differences 120-130

Thankfully the movement I am seeing is around 1-3 mm. Barely visible but you can hear things knocking, too. Some calls yesterday to 4x4 shops revealed a lot of head scratching and requests for part numbers, so I'm starting with that, hopefully tonight.

So Ben, you said shimming is easy, yes? I have looked at tables that tell you which one(s) you need based on what the endplay is. Is there any secret to doing this or do the shims just bolt on behind the backing plate? And does each side need to be done individually or can you take up the "slack" from just one side?
