Recently our Volvo's (1984 240 Sedan) battery started draining. I swapped it for a new battery, it lasted for about 4 days before it was totally drained too. The charging circuit works fine. I traced the drain down to the fuse that controls the courtesy lights, power door locks, clock, etc. If I pull out the fuse the battery seems fine.
While checking things out I noticed (I don't usually drive the car) that the power door locks while driving intermittently unlock, and attempt to lock, however they only move part way on the locking, not all the way to lock, this happens repeatedly while driving. There is a relay? under the dash that is clicking when this happens. Could the power door locks be the mystery power drain? I didn't notice the locks attempting to open and close with the car stationary, however I did not sit in it over night either, and it takes days for the battery to fully drain. It does however have a noticeable drop over night.
Any suggestions short of calling Ghost Busters (already had that suggestion) are greatly appreciated.
