Won't stay running. 200

It's a '89 245 with FI, about 150K miles and a new battery. It was sitting for a while (apx 2 months) and since I had put a new battery in it at that time I thought it would be OK. Not so. It stalled on the road and wouldn't start (not enough juice to crank it). When I went back to jump it it started OK but would not stay running without the cables from another vehicule on. When I took the cables off, it stalled. I took the battery out to charge it and it read that it had a full charge.
Put the battery back in the car, and it was the same thing over again.
Can anyone (or everyone) help me with some trouble shooting ideas?
Thanks.
