Brembo rotor questions 900

I'm finally getting around to doing that brake job... with the addition of new Brembo rotors.

#1) I've read about matching up the 'marking' on the new rotor with the marking on the hub, but I'm wondering what exactly IS this marking? There is a number 425 printed in ink at one point on the new rotor in the area with the bolt holes. Could that be the mark? Also there's two small pinholes sort of at 180 degrees accross the hub.

#2) I don't have any micrometer... can't rent one either... but the instructions call for using a micrometer gauge to test the runout. Would just some homemade device work... say some stationary object held against the new rotor in place, to see if it wobbles when turned? Any tips on a micrometer substitute? Or should I just take potluck and see how it works?

Thanks...
