Sat nine days; now won't start 200

The car: 240, 1989.

The background: I went out of town for nine days. Car had been running fine, but a tad rough when wet, which obviously means distributor cap and/or wires. Apparently there were a couple days of torrential rain right before I returned.

The problem: Won't start. Cranks like hell. I let it dry out for two days and it still won't start. Seems to be trying like hell to catch, but won't.

The solution? Please help!
