Erratic Fuel Gauge 444-544 1953

Also, you can get a new sending unit from JC Whitney (www.jcwhitney.com) for just a few bucks.

Of course, this is a generic unit, and may require some minor modification to fit your tank. I put one in my '47 Willys CJ2A Jeep and it worked great.

If nothing else, you could certainly use some of the parts (like the new windings) to repair your original gauge.

As long as we're talking gauges, I've noticed that virtually all the PV series owners seem to have some trouble with one (or more) gauges. Do you think there would be any demand for someone to do repair service? I have a background in electronics, and since I've retired I've been restoring wrist watches.

Sounds like just the training needed to fix gauges...
