Pretty steering box 120-130

As Patrick assumed, IN the frame (not the box itself). I wonder as the steering box should be pretty stoutly tightened down and there definitely IS one at the lower front hole. Also the other two holes seem kinda big.

As I have been thinking on the problem, I am wondering if a PO or his/her "mechanic" purposely ovaled the holes to get the steering to align after a "shunt." There is evidence of other damage to the front end that is not professionally repaired (unless the professional was a blacksmith, in which case it was done pretty well...).

It all seems to work "butter smooth" right now so I'll reserve judgement for the road trials to come (oh, Diety, may the day be soon!).

Mike!
