cracks in head pipe, 'dimples' in catalytic converter. Replace Both? 200 1986

If the cat is not giving you any problems, why waste $100? The dimples are OK. Is your muffler guy trying to sell you something? Is your header pipe leaking or is it just cracked? If it is leaking, it will need to be replaced. If it is just cracked you could always wait until it leaks - 50 60K down the road.
