740 GL Wagon Tail Lamp Out & Repetitive Fuse Blowout 700 1986

I have searched the FAQ arena to no avail for specifics on my dilema. The fuse for the right-rear tail light on my 740 GL Wagon blows continually. I replaced the blown fuse with a 15amp, 20amp, and 25amp. In all three instances, the fuse blew, immediately. The lamp has a new bulb and appears to have good connection inside the lamp housing. Of note, the bulb out light on the instrument panel is illuminated, yet, it has been illuminated even when the tail lamp worked. After the 25amp blew I knew the issue was a tad serious and I should not force the issue with larger amperage of fuses. I need to repair soon. Any counsel will be gratefully received.
