Front Wiper Motor--repair or replace? 200

This front wiper motor gear case from a 1990 244 clearly shows a cracked cam wheel (for the “park” position contacts). Also, the square keyway at the hub of the cam has no matching key in the supporting spindle from the larger gear underneath. How is the cam supposed to be driven? Did the key wear off the spindle? As it is here, the cam remains still when the wiper motor runs, and the wipers will not park.
.
Is it possible to remove/ replace the larger gear inside the case (to drive the cam), or is replacement of the whole motor assembly necessary? Any experiences with this?
