No Compression, metallic knocking sound! 200 1982

Ok everyone, a couple days ago i drove to a friends house in the '82 242GLT, and everything ran fine, and it even turned over to 350,000KM! BUT, upon getting back in the car to go home, it started and hardly ran with a weird metallic knocking sound. I checked all the plug wires and such, but couldn't fix it, so I drove it down the street home, hardly reving it, and parked it on the street for a few days until i could look at it.

Yesterday, i took the valvecover off and everything looked fine under there. Next was a compression check showing 180psi in cylinders 1,3,and 4, but absolutely nothing in #2.

I'm thinking a valve broke or something, and is now inside the cylinder? Any way to confirm this without removing the head? Does it make sense that a valve would just all of a sudden break???

As usual, any help is appreciated, but i need to have something to drive soon!!!
