i need info on the TPS...how should it be positioned? 200

i was just wondering exaclty where my tps(throttle position sensor) should be positioned. THis the thing that breaks connection when the throttle cable is pulled back by the accelerator...i guess it tells the car when idle is no longer necessary.

On my car i can pull the throttle a bit until the metal disconnects from each other. When i'm driving...i can feel a slight lag...in first until i reach a point where i guess the TPS disconnects and stops the car from idle mode.

Should i position the TPS so that after even a little bit of throttle is pressed it disconnects?

BTW...my car is a 1982 kjet car

thanks
