Volvo 245 Transmission and Wiper motor 200

Hi Ya'll!

I'm stepping in to the 200 forum for a question about a 1981 245 I'd like to buy.

The owner is selling it for cheap... but with some problems.

The transmission works, but coming out of idle it'll take sometime before chaning into first. Then it'll take a second or two to switch into 2nd.

Has anyone encountered something similar? I read earliar about just replacing the fluid. Does it need to be serviced? Or a complete transmission change?

***

I also need to change the wiper motors. (I think I do) Is it a DIY job, or a $$$ job?

***

Is the serpentine belt difficult to change on the 240? Tensioners?

***

Sorry for being vague... I appreciate any help in advance,

Thanks
